February 2021 with Precious Pics | Annual Wedding & Engagement Report | Photography & Videography

February weddings are an underrated category. Valentine's Day drives a weekend of destination ceremonies; the dry-season window holds for Florida and Georgia; and National Wedding Month gives couples who quietly planned through January the final push to book a date.
Here's what February 2021 looked like at Precious Pics. Seven couples, four weddings, three engagement sessions, three states — plus one February 27 double-header with one wedding in Miami and another in Savannah on the same day.
1. Eli & Brittany — Savannah, GA
A Precious Collection wedding at The Grainery, Red Gate Farms — the rustic-barn side of Savannah's wedding scene. Two photographers, videographer, drone. Classic elegant styling, bright-and-warm edit. Early February in Savannah gives you the last of the cool-weather outdoor weddings before spring crowds arrive.
2. Lina & Connor — Upperco, MD (engagement)
A Deluxe Photography package with complimentary engagement session. We shot the engagement at Takoma Piney Branch Park — candid, romantic, warm and natural finishing. Park engagements in February work best at mid-afternoon; earlier and the light is flat, later and you lose it before you're done.
3. Yvette & Derrick — Key West, FL
A Key West destination wedding — ceremony at First Flight Island Restaurant & Brewery, lodging at Havana Cabana. Value Collection, classic candid beach-wedding style, bright-and-airy edit. February in the Keys is the cleanest light of the year; the humidity drops and the water photographs as a single color.
4. Cara & Ruben — Miami, FL (engagement)
Pre-wedding engagement session at Bill Baggs Cape State Park on Key Biscayne — the lighthouse, the rocky coast, the shaded nature trails. Booked with a full Precious Collection for the wedding to follow. Classic elegant, bright-and-airy.
5. Tara & Scott — Boca Raton, FL (engagement)
A two-location engagement — Boca Inlet for the waterfront frames, Hillsboro Club Lighthouse for the architectural frames. Warm and deep edit. Ocean engagement sessions in February benefit from lower tide windows; we scheduled this one around the tide chart, not just the sunset.
6. Selene & Matthew — Miami, FL
The full Villa Woodbine "secret garden" wedding we wrote up in its own feature. Precious Collection, two photographers and videographer, classic-chic styling, vivid and warm edit. February in Miami is the dry-season sweet spot — the reason Villa Woodbine books out for February weekends 12+ months in advance.
7. Sydney & Vincent — Savannah, GA
Second Savannah wedding of the month, this one at Red Gate Farms' main property. Precious Collection, two photographers and videographer. Classic elegant with candid and photojournalistic accents. Bright warm and airy edit. Same venue family as Eli & Brittany at the beginning of the month — different corners of the same 500-acre property.
That was February.
The month where the season started to warm up — still slow in the Mid-Atlantic, fully open in Florida, and already busy in Savannah. If you're planning a February wedding for next year, the math is the opposite of the summer: you want destination venues in the dry-season sweet spot (Florida, coastal Georgia, the Keys) where February books tighter than June does.
Sincerely yours, Precious Pics
