South Florida weddings live in tropical light: soft dappled shade under the banyan and sea grape canopies at Vizcaya, direct golden hour off Biscayne Bay at 6 p.m., and midday heat that demands strong backups. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and Vizcaya Museum both throw soft filtered light that flatters skin all day. The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables sits on grounds with formal gardens and interior ballrooms steeped in 1920s grandeur. On the beach side, oceanfront ceremonies mean wind off the Atlantic, saltwater air on lenses, and sunset orientations that matter. June through September, afternoon thunderstorms roll in from the west around 3 p.m.; we build portrait windows accordingly and embrace the post-storm light when it's clean and cool.
